Cooling Off Period

The cooling off period  is 21 days before the start of your contract for all 44-week, 51-week, and single-semester contracts.

Deferring Studies

If you deferred your entry, you're still eligible for accommodation. If you didn't enrol for the previous year, the system should recognise you as a new first-year student and allow you to book as normal for the upcoming academic year.

1).You may terminate this Agreement early if: a) you withdraw from your course b) you are excluded or refused admission. c) you have been absent from your course for more than 60 days due to illness and have formally agreed a suspension of studies with your higher education provider. d). Replacement Tenant Accepted

a) you have found a suitable replacement occupier who is both an existing NTU student and approved by us (acting reasonably); b) the proposed replacement occupier is not already in accommodation provided by us; c) the proposed replacement occupier completes their booking. A deposit is not required to book a room in University arranged accommodation. Please note -  you may need to pay a deposit private halls of residence.

How do I apply for university accommodation as an undergraduate student?

Made Hull your firm choice on UCAS? You’ll get an email confirming when accommodation applications are open. We’ll send this to the personal address registered with UCAS, and it’ll take you through how to use our online service to apply for accommodation. Can’t find this email? You can apply for accommodation here. Simply log in with your University of Hull account and follow the step-by-step process.

How do I apply for university accommodation as an international student?

When you accept your course offer, your information will be transferred to our accommodation system. You will receive an email within 72 hours with instructions on how to apply. For our Inbound Exchange students, the accommodation portal will pick up both full-year and single-semester contracts. Be sure to select the correct contract length for your exchange programme.

How do I apply for university accommodation as an insurance applicant?

Made Hull your insurance choice? When accommodation applications open, you can access our portal to express an interest in applying for accommodation. (Please note: At this stage, you’re not able to apply for a specific type of accommodation yet.) When you’ve accepted your offer at Hull (typically around A level Results Day), we’ll send you an email inviting you to apply for accommodation through our portal. At this point, you can choose and apply for accommodation from the list of available options. We’ll confirm your application once you’ve accepted your residence contract online.

How do I apply for university accommodation as a postgraduate student?

When you’ve accepted your offer to study with us, we’ll send you an email to the address registered with the University on how to access our portal to secure your accommodation. Once you’ve made your choice, we’ll ask you to accept a residence contract to confirm your booking. You can find out more and book your postgraduate accommodation here. How do I apply for university accommodation as a returning student?

We have a range of exclusive offers for current students who'd like to continue to live on campus during their studies. Returning student discounts are subject to room type and contract length booked.

Does Hull offer guaranteed university accommodation?

Yes. We guarantee all new full-time undergraduate students a single occupancy room in University-owned, managed or directed accommodation, provided they apply by 31 July in their year of entry.

How long is the contract for university accommodation?

Contract lengths vary depending on the accommodation you choose and your course requirements. Details of available contract lengths are shown during the accommodation application process.

Which university accommodation contract do I need for my course?

The contract you need will depend on your course and how long you need accommodation for. Make sure you select the contract that best matches your period of study.

My course includes a placement or year abroad. What does this mean for my university accommodation contract?

If your course includes a placement year or a year abroad, you should consider this when choosing your accommodation contract. Make sure the contract length is suitable for your study plans.

Can I stay with my friends in University accommodation?

Yes. You can request to live with friends when applying for accommodation. We will do our best to accommodate requests, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer adapted university accommodation?

Yes. We offer adapted accommodation for students with disabilities and additional requirements. Contact the accommodation team to discuss your needs so we can help identify the most suitable accommodation.

Do you offer family accommodation?

No. We do not offer family accommodation.

How do I find and reach out to my university flatmates?

Information about your flatmates will be made available through the accommodation process once room allocations have been confirmed.

How do I apply for accommodation through Clearing?

Once you have accepted your place through Clearing, you will receive information about applying for accommodation. You can then apply through the accommodation portal and choose from the available options.
