    经常问的问题

What extras do I get as part of my tenancy at the property?

As part of your tenancy at the property you gain access to all of the communal facilities available at Windsor House (just a short 10 minute walk away).

    This includes:

    • Gym access
    • Cinema room
    • VIP lounge – communal games space & shared kitchen
    • Communal and individual study areas

As well as this you will gain access to their student assistance programme which offers 24/7 health and wellbeing support all year round.

But that’s not all. They host monthly events at all of their student accommodations, giving students the opportunity to mix with neighbours and make new friends.

Do you offer dual occupancy studio apartments at the property?

Yes they do! All studio apartments are open to dual occupancy tenancies.

Where is the property located in Cardiff?

Situated in the heart of the city – Close to Cardiff Castle, parks, City hall, museum, universities, transport links, high street shops, restaurants and nightlife. Located next to Cardiff Castle and stadiums including rugby, football, concert venues and more!

    Do you offer dual occupancy?

Yes, they do! Some of their studio apartments are available for dual occupancy, so you can share the space with a partner or friend. Dual occupancy allows you to enjoy the convenience and comfort of a private studio or apartment while splitting the cost, making it a great option for those who prefer to live with someone they know. To book a dual occupancy studio apartment, simply get in touch with their dedicated team. They’ll help guide you through the process and answer any questions you might have.

I haven’t paid rent yet, can I still move in?

You will need to pay your rent upon checking in, otherwise they won’t be able to hand over the keys to your room. If there have been changes in your circumstances preventing you from paying your rent, please speak with their Customer Engagement Team.

Can I book a dual tenancy?

Yes, if you would like to buddy up in one of their beautiful rooms, you can. They offer dual occupancy in their studio apartments; the bigger studio apartment is recommended if you’d love that extra space. Note: Dual tenancy is not available in their shared apartment.

    Am I allowed guests?

Your friends and family are more than welcome to stay. But while they’re here, they’ll be your responsibility. So careful! If they cause damage to the property, or disruption for people living with you, this will be your responsibility. Extensive stays (that’s longer than a week) aren’t allowed.

Is there 24/7 security at my accommodation?

Every building has a secure entry, and students are given a 24-hour contact number to call if they have any concerns about safety or security.

What happens with my post and parcels?

Depending on your accommodation, parcels are delivered to designated hub locations in the city, where residents can collect them at their convenience. Alternatively, residents may choose to accept delivery in person from the courier or arrange for the parcel to be left at an official drop-off location specified by the courier company. Unfortunately, they’re unable to guarantee a member of staff will be able to accept your parcel in un-manned locations.

How do I report a noise complaint?

Let’s be respectful of each other. Please be considerate of how much noise you’re making – especially between 11pm and 7am. If other residents complain about you or your guests making too much noise – especially if complaints are serious or persistent – they may have to ask you to leave the building.

How do I send a request to the maintenance team?

Something broken? Faulty? Their onsite maintenance team will get right on it. Just let your Accommodation Team know or simply use the property app. Through the app you can raise a ticket for maintenance issues via the ‘contact us’ tile. Once you submit the maintenance ticket, your site team will be notified and will respond through the app’s messaging feature. The app is handy not only for raising maintenance tickets, it also allows for general enquiries, delivery status checks, visitor requests, and more.

Do you offer contents insurance to protect my belongings?

Yes – they offer free contents insurance during your stay with them. They’ve partnered with Cover4insurance, one of the best student insurance providers. You’ll need to register with them first to activate your cover. It is important all students confirm their cover to ensure you understand what is and isn’t covered.

How do I access the Spectrum App?

The Spectrum app is fully compatible across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices, allowing you to explore its full range of features on whichever platform suits you best. Discover what works for you by downloading the app today from the App Store or Google Play.

Do I need a Visa to study in the UK?

Do I need a UK phone number while I’m studying?

Getting a UK phone number is not a requirement, but it is a good choice to avoid racking up high charges when you call home while studying in the UK. Check out all the deals for international calls and make sure you get the phone and deal that’s right for you.

Can I have parcels delivered ready for my move in date?

Yes, however they recommend that you have parcels delivered once you have already moved in so that they can be collected, as some buildings may not have enough storage space for the quantity of parcels that are typically received. If you are still planning on delivering parcels for your move-in date, please let your Accommodation Team know ahead of time if you have not moved in yet.

Everything you need to know about moving in

You’ll find your check in date on the front page of your tenancy document. It’s under ‘start date’. You can arrive on your check in date, and if you’re likely to move in after your check in date, they ask that you let them know, so that they can make sure you receive the full property welcome when you do move in.
Arriving on the day? They’ll give you a time slot to help you avoid traffic and make sure your check in experience is as seamless as possible.
Driving? They recommend checking out the area beforehand and making sure you know where to park. Coming in by train or plane? Book your taxi in advance if you can or ask your accommodation manager to do it for you. Their team will be here to help you move in, unload stuff, give you your keys, show you around and take you to your room.

What do I need to bring to my university accommodation?

    • If you’re bringing electrical items, bring extension leads, and a UK plug converter too.

    • Oh, and don’t forget your books and stationery.

Everything you need to know about moving out

You’ll have to move out by the end of your tenancy – you can see when that is on your tenancy document.
If you want to move out earlier, you can arrange that with your Accommodation Team. At the end of the academic year, they’ll let you know when you’ll be expected to move out and exactly what you’ll need to do.
Before you go, your Accommodation Team will make an appointment to inspect your room, this is to make sure that your room is left exactly how it was when you moved in.
